09/19/2007: "My Truck, Ink Cartridges, and Mobile Internet"

My Truck
The truck is alive!!! We got the brake cylinder and put it in. So now we can stop it without having to just turn the key with it in gear. I saved 30 bucks on windshield wiper parts by going to the junk yard. I am still looking for an exhaust manifold and exhaust pipe.

Ink Cartridges
I try to avoid talking about work, but I have to mention the Printer Cartridge Refill service provided by Walgreens. We had a promotion on Sept. 12th, where you could get a free refill done. It made for a hectic week of work, and some decent overtime. We have had this service for a while now. Sept 12 was the first big push in advertising for it. While the promotion is over, it still isn't a bad deal. If you cartridge doesn't work for some reason (ink cartridges are more fragile than you think) then you get your money back, and can even recycle it at the store and get a coupon for 10 free 4x6 prints from the photo lab.

Mobile Internet
I've seen these advertisements for the T-Mobile Sidekicks lately. I was already feeling the urge for a phone upgrade, and, while I'm not ready for an iPhone (I know how I treat my iPod,) I do want a mobile device with full internet available on it. For a while I was thinking about waiting to see what that Google Phone is going to be about. After reading a few things about it, I don't feel like an ad filled phone is what I am looking for.

I don't want anything like a blackberry. The T-Mobile Sidekick seems like it has exactly what I want.... except the network. Rossville doesn't seem to be the priority for cell phone companies. I have had my current phone for many years, and I like the coverage at the house. Areas that I frequent are definitely on the coverage map for T-Mobile. so I am considering a sidekick for data usage only.

I don't want to just take the plunge into a 2-mobile-devices life, so I am resisting the urge to buy a Sidekick off of eBay. I've been close a few times. It would be great if I could look at one first or even talk to someone I know that has one.
