New Floor!
We tore the carpet out of the kitchen, and replaced it with laminate flooring. It looks great! It took all day, but it was worth all the effort. Clints dad came and helped us. If my camera had charged batteries I could take a picture. I hope to get a shot tonight or tomorrow to put on here.

Puppy Prowess
Sophie, the puppy, gets to stay with us for the weekend. Its like having a little kid that barks at you all the time. She never really started to bark around me until she came here. First she saw my little humping chihuahua and went crazy for that. Then she learned that the couch is the most comfortable place to sit in the living room.
She is not a small puppy by any means. Here is a shot of her in her cage.

She is in there because she wanted to come in, but she hasn't used the bathroom yet after she ate, so she goes in there til she says she has to go.

It looks kinda like puppy jail doesn't it.
She is doing this lonely howl now. I think I will try to take her outside again.

Global Warming and Hurricanes: Nobody Knows Anything
Read This
What happened to the record Hurricane season we were supposed to have this year? If it wasn't going to be a record, it was certainly supposed to be an active season right? Maybe that is just what we were lead to believe....
.... And guess what was to blame for the frequent and more intense hurricanes.... Global Warming.
If global warming is the reason we had an unusually active hurricane season last year, and this year is supposedly even warmer, then where are the hurricanes this year? You know how many we have had? Zero. None. There have been 3 named tropical storms this year in the Atlantic. This time last year there were 9, and we are fast approaching the anniversary of the one that made the world freak out about global warming and hurricane activity.
Maybe I got a different feel for how the media, politicians, scientists were explaining things this past spring when predicting the hurricane season and why. I was under the impression that global warming is the reason and that we will just have more seasons like last year and the world is going to end because of global warming and please stop me from this run on sentence if you can I should ride a bike and eat soy products.
So here is the surprise... are you ready.... Atlantic sea temperatures are down this year. Say it aint so... down? You mean it got cooler??
You may ask, "What in the world does that mean?"
I can tell you.
In the narrowest of terms, nobody knows jack about the effect rising air temperatures has on hurricanes.
Yeah, thats right. No ones knows. Don't let the so-called "experts" on TV threaten you with rising temperatures, and global calamities in order to get you to live a certain way, or vote a certain way. They don't know. They have an agenda.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying we should pollute more, or spray oil into the ocean, or light tires on fire. There are better reasons to be more environmentally friendly.
That is a topic for another day.

Painting Done
The room painting is done. Looks totally different now. No more purple! I don't mind purple as the color, but it didn't go well with my orange carpet (also not my choice) and other things I keep in my room. I would have a picture, but I had left my camera bag at The Hangebrauck's last weekend and I haven't got it back yet. Perhaps a trip for tomorow.
I was supposed to have help/guidance during the painting, however my mother was unable to make it over here until late in the afternoon. By then I was done!

Page Change
I changed the number of entries to leave on the main page to make it a little smaller. Nothing gets lost, all the posts that roll off the bottom get sent to the archives.
You can look at any post I've ever written in the archives. Just click on the Archives link to the right for all my posts since I moved to Greymatter.
The Pre-August '05 Archive link opens one single page containing all the posts I had written while this blog was hosted by Blogger.com

Rock The Brauck and More!
So I just helped Stacey with her Wireless network problems over the phone. As soon as I did, I think her phone died, because the call ended and when I call back it goes to her voicemail.
The big party was last weekend out by Forest Glenn. The 2nd Annual Rock The Brauck party was great! We even had T-shirts this year. It was a long day and night of fun.
Previous to that I had bought a pool. It is one of those 12' round things that come with a little filter/pump that you can set up almost anywhere. The first place I set it up wasn't very level, and I couldn't fill it up all the way because of it. I took it down, but not before the grass under where it was died.
I just filled it up again, and the spot is a lot more level now. There isn't a perfectly level spot in the yard at all, but I think I found one that will work well enough.
Oh yeah, I am painting my room tomorrow morning. That is exciting. I won't have purple walls anymore.
I made Stacey a log-in so she could upload photos to my web server for me. It was a nice surprise to see her message. She should write on here more often!
